Tour Description
Tivoli is a little medieval town that boasts two UNESCO world heritage sites: Hadrian’s Villa and Villa D’Este.
First you will step back in time and visit the ancient Roman ruins of Emperor Hadrian’s Villa. Within a vast and peaceful green area, you will explore the remains of ancient Roman baths (and marvel at the ingenious engineering), temples and palaces while learning about the life of this impressive emperor who was highly respected in his day.
Followed by a break for lunch you will then explore a Renaissance gem, Villa D’Este. Created in 1650, the palace contains exquisitely decorated rooms, an abundance of important frescoes and truly breathtaking gardens and fountains. This is a very special place!
