Tour Description

This Colosseum tour is an adventurous one designed for children. Enjoy an interactive experience with your guide and find out when, why and how this huge arena was built. The children (along with you) will love listening to stories of gladiators, wild animals, crazy Emperors and naval battles. After, we will head (on foot > 25 minutes, or by taxi > 10 minutes) to the largest dome in the ancient Roman world: the Pantheon! There we will discover games of sun-light projected on the dome and the many more secrets of this immense building.

Know before you go

• You will be asked to show a valid ID, passport or student card (a picture on the phone is OK).

• In summertime, wear light clothes, sunglasses and a hat. From June to September it is very hot in Rome (95-100 degrees F). Protect yourself and your children with a good sun cream.

• Please do not bring any multi-tool knives or any other kind of metallic objects with you, as the Colosseum has strict security measures.

• The Pantheon is a catholic church, so there is a dress code: you must have your shoulders and knees covered (only for adults and older children. Children under 8 years are exempted). Capri pants and shorts below the knees are accepted. Only for women: if you are wearing a sleeveless shirt, just bring a scarf to cover your shoulders.

Is the price per person or per group?

The price is intended for groups and families of up to 6 people. For larger groups, please inquire.
Does the price include tickets?

No, the price includes only the private tour. We will purchase the skip-the-line tickets when you book the tour, according to the number of adults and children (regular priced and reduced tickets).
Who is elegible for reduced tickets?

Children under 18 years have free access to the Colosseum.
Where do you meet your guide?

It depends on the starting time, but it can be either in front of the Colosseum or the Pantheon. So, you can start immediately the tour with your guide. We will inform you about the exact meeting point after your reservation is confirmed.
Will we have time for a break?

Sure! Mostly in summer, we can stop for a yummy gelato (Italian icecream) or a little snack, like a slide of pizza or a good cappuccino. Just make a wish and you will be fulfilled!
What is the dress code for the Pantheon?

The Pantheon is an active church, so shoulders and knees must be covered. Capri pants or shorts that are below the knee are permitted. For women: if you are wearing a sleeveless shirt, please bring a scarf to cover your shoulders. The dress code is not required for children under 8 years of age.
What happens when you are late?

As soon as you book, we will provide you with the guide’s cell number so that you may call your guide to communicate any delays. The skip-the-line tickets have a tolerance of 15 minutes. This means you can enter the Colosseum 15 minutes earlier or 15 minutes after the time slot of your ticket. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your ticket is no longer valid.
