In this wonderful archaeological site, you can witness how ordinary people lived their daily lives over 2,000 years ago. From relaxing in thermal baths, watching a play in a Roman stone theatre, enjoying lunch in a Termopolius (the ancestor of our trattorias), worshipping their many gods in temples, fixing the colours of their clothes in ancient laundry facilities, and even ancient public toilets – your guide will bring these ancient ruins to life!

And with all of the greenery and open space of this fantastic place, your furry friend will be very busy with the many new smells, as well as enjoying a long walk in your company.

Know before you go

Wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sun cream (in summertime) and get ready for a wonderful experience in the countryside – a stone’s throw from Rome!

After the tour is over, you may reach Ostia (the modern town). Your kids can play on the beach and you can enjoy a meal in one of the amazing restaurants.

Is the price per person or per group?

The price is intended for a group or family up to 6 people. For bigger groups, please ask for advice.
Does the price include tickets?

No, it doesn’t. You can purchase entrance tickets on the spot. They are 10 euro for adults and free for children under 18 years of age. No reductions for seniors.
Where do we meet the guide?

The guide can meet you at the entrance of the archeological site of Ostia Antica.
Is transportation included in the price?

No, it is not. You can easly get to Ostia Antica by the Roma-Lido local train from Piramide station: departures every 10 minutes, ticket price € 1.50 per person, dogs allowed (with leash). Or you can request the "Taxi Dog" minivan service, directly from your hotel/apartment to Ostia and back (write us for the cost).
